The Duval County Clerk of the Circuit Court is responsible for processing circuit court case records, among other duties. Court records are documents generated during legal proceedings, such as criminal case files, bankruptcy records, and records from family or probate court. They contain information about these legal proceedings, including names of the parties involved, dates of hearings, testimony and evidence, and rulings in cases. Court records are kept in office for a period of time and then disposed of or archived. Most are considered public records, though some information may be redacted when copies are provided to the public. In some cases, court records may be sealed and require a court order to access, but many others can be accessed easily online. Jody Phillips is the current Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Requests may be submitted in person, via phone, via email, through the mail, or online.
Online access to Duval County court records is available through the Clerk’s online records portal, known as CORE. The county offers a free general viewing of records for the public. This basic level of access allows the public to view non-confidential court records in non-confidential case types, but does not allow them to request access to documents that have not already been reviewed and published to CORE for viewing. Those utilizing the basic public access level are also not permitted to view records in cases governed by the Florida Rules of Family Law or the Florida Probate Rules per the Supreme Court’s order.
Those who choose to register and create a free CORE account with the Clerk’s Office have the enhanced capability to request that new documents be reviewed and published to CORE. If a document is requested, it will be reviewed by a Clerk employee to ensure that the document is properly redacted prior to release. Once complete, the requestor will receive an email notification that the document is ready to be viewed. Once the document is published to CORE, it is available to be viewed by all CORE users who are granted access under the Supreme Court’s rules.
Registered users are also able to view non-confidential records in cases governed by the Florida Rules of Family Law and the Florida Probate Rules.
Requests for copies of court records can be done without registering an account online. All that is required is to include your contact information, including an email address.
